Welcome to my new blog series of ‘Project Love’ where I am going to have random conversations about love, life and experiences with celebrities(not Shahrukh Khan or Ranbir Kapoor types but some amazing people) who are suuupper close to my heart (or your heart), people who might not be very famous but are real life heroes and celebrities for folks around them.
Disclaimer: Your feedback, constructive criticism and thoughts are ALWAYS welcome but I have zero tolerance for batameezi or rude comments. We are talking about ‘Project Love’ here. Show some love or don’t scroll down!
Hello Hello guys and girls! I am back after a long break with January’s edition of Project Love and this time its none other than Faizaan Ahmad, one of the famous #husbandsofinstagram. We often find him in Mahvish’s Instagram stories or on her feed. We know that he is an amazing husband and a fabulous dad, always spot on about feminism and often setting an example for our stereotypical desi men but let’s get to know him on a personal level.

Hello Faizaan, tell us about yourself.
I was born in Lahore in 1983. An extremely uneventful childhood that led me to Lahore Grammar School, LUMS and eventually Unilever. No major stories here 😜
Wow! That was pretty straight LOL
So, how was your childhood?
Do you see some traces of your childhood in Minha or Bano?
As I said, extremely uneventful childhood. Regular middle class family with regular middle class stuff. I was fat and awkward for many years and then I was skinny and awkward for many years. I discovered fitness a few years ago so now I’m just awkward.
Minha is an angel. Just like I was. And Bano is the devil. Just like my younger brother was.

Hahaha yep, we know how Bano keeps you two on your toes 😂
How did your life change when you became a husband and then later, a father?
The only way to find out is to become one. And for both, all I will say is…..wait till you are really really sure 😉

I see some wisdom there!
When was the first time you fell in love in its truest sense?
Worst time of my life! Because she didn’t love me back.
As I said, I was skinny… and shy…and awkward!
Ouch! This reminded me of ‘Mera pehla pyaar adhoora reh gaya Riffat Bee’ from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai😒
Anyway, so your Instagram feed tells us that you love photography. Where did that come from and when did that happen?
It really came out of the blue. I had never done photography and had no interest. I just used to get super frustrated when my pictures didn’t capture the beauty of the scenes I was looking at. So I bought a nice camera in 2011. And yet I was still frustrated because my pictures were as shit as before. That’s when I started learning from YouTube and magazines and realized that it’s never about the camera.

I think everyone who is reading this blog interview, will now stop cursing their cameras and rather focus on the right angles..Thank You Faizaan!
We see that you travel a lot. What has travelling taught you?
180 degrees change. I am not the person I was 15 years ago, in any sense! And it all started with my internship in Cairo in 2005. Once you leave the nest you realize that the world is much bigger than your neighborhood.

Some more wisdom from Faizaan Ahmad! 😁
So, has anything changed your life?
My thoughts on religion started changing drastically after I started reading the translation of the Quran about 10 years back. But this is a sensitive topic on which I am more than happy to have debates about without publishing them online.
Oh wow! We didn’t know this side of yours.
It is mostly said that women are more sensitive and emotional while men are more practical and apathetic. What are your thoughts on this?
I think that assigning attributes to people based on gender is ridiculous!
You are absolutely right!
What’s that one thing that you absolutely love about yourself?
I ALWAYS listen to the other side of the story.
What are your three personality traits that you would want to be passed on to your daughters?
My daughters are already better people than me! I learn some things from them rather than the other way round.

So guys, here I present you the very humble Faizaan Ahmad LOL 😁
Is there anything weirdly funny about you or you have done previously that most people don’t know?
I once fell while playing shoot ball and broke my front tooth. That added significantly to my already devastatingly good looks.
Hahaha!
Did you or anyone close to you went through any mental health problems and how did you cope with that?
Mahvish has gone through significant emotional and mental trauma after bano’s delivery but its mostly she that has coped with it. I have just tried to NOT tell her to ‘get over it’.

Husband goals again! ❤
That brings us to our most fun, raw and candid Rapid Fire Round! I am sure you are as excited as me and my followers 😁
Ready. Set. Go!
What’s one song that describes your life right now?
Yun hi chala chal rahi
If you were to change your name, what other name would you like for yourself?
I would like to add my family name as my real 2nd name and be called Faizaan Sandhu. The story of why I am called Faizaan Ahmad is a very long one.
Weirdest combination of food that you love to eat?
I eat everything! The weirdest thing I’ve had is fried snails.
What’s the dumbest thing you believed as a kid?
Let’s not go there. Even adults believe a lot of dumb things.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?
Try to not wake up Mahvish and get scolded.
What’s that one thing you absolutely hate but HAVE to do daily?
Emptying the dishwasher.
What’s that terrible movie that you love?
DDLJ
If you were to date one celebrity, who would that be?
Deepika!
What do you think people will be nostalgic for in 40 years?
Animals.
One thing that you would like to say to all women in the world on behalf of guys.
We are sorry for being assholes.
One life advice that you would like to give.
Get over yourself!
One love advice that you would like to give.
No conditions. Ever!
That brings us to the end of another super fun and super candid blog interview. Thank you Faizaan for taking out your precious, precious time and sharing your life with us. Made us feel all the more special!
At the end of it, I would like to conclude that apart from being an awesome pawsome husband and father, Faizaan Ahmad is a super sweet, honest, genuine, humble guy with a great sense of humor!
You can catch this amazing husband-wife duo on Mahvish’s Instagram. They make the best dubsmashes of some of our most favorite Bollywood classics.
P.s. you might find them in one of the Karan Johar’s movies soon!
As for me, we will catch up soon! See YOU around…
